PUBLIC COVID FORUM

Pawnee, Oklahoma, July 28, 2020.  The Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma will be sponsoring Public COVID Forum that will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020.  This Forum will be held online so that as many Tribal members may be a part of this event and may also provide constructive comments to the Pawnee Business Council about the use of the remaining COVID funds.

Starting at 10 a.m., there will be a briefing on COVID Funding and prior expenditure decisions.  There will also be some presentations on TDC and Pawnee Nation COVID Relief needs of the employees, recommendations from TERC (Tribal Emergency Response Committee), Public school re-opening needs, and other topics that are still being developed.

Once all presentations are completed, then the listening session will begin at 1 p.m., and Tribal members will have the opportunity to provide comments, either by email, in person on online.  An application can be found online on our website pawneenation.org and also on the Tribal Facebook account for Tribal members to complete and send back in so that they may participate in this virtual event.  There will also be a couple of rooms set up for local Tribal members to go to in order to watch the presentations on that date and to provide comment(s) and/or recommendations.  A full agenda will be posted as soon as it is confirmed.

This Forum is being prepared and presented in response to President Echo-Hawk’s campaign platform which was devoted to the “Health & safety of our people during the pandemic is a top concern, including the careful monitoring of the re-opening of our community and economy.” President Echo-Hawk proposal was to hold a PBC-sponsored public forum for Tribal members to brief them about pandemic planning, prior expenditures, and applicable expenditure guidelines; and the forum will be a listening session to hear Tribal members’ concerns, suggestions for addressing the pandemic, and recommendations for using remaining Pandemic Relief funds.

For more information, contact the Executive Office at 918.762.3621.
