ON JUNE 14, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

You will be given the opportunity to vote on proposed amendments to the Pawnee Nation Constitution.

With this tribal election our elected Pawnee Business Council members and Governing Documents Committee revised the Election Ordinance that enabled the Pawnee Nation to conduct it’s own election.

It was important for these bodies to allow the Pawnee Nation to exercise it’s right as a sovereign tribal nation. With previous BIA conducted elections, tribal members were required to register in order to be able to vote.

In this election, you are not required to register.

All enrolled Pawnee tribal members 18 years of age and above on the day of the election are eligible to vote.

You will be given an option to vote either yes or no to all five (5) Constitutional Amendments or you may vote on each amendment individually.

Absentee ballots will only be accepted if received by noon on June14, 2008, the day of the election.

You must contact the enrollment office at 918-762-3621 to ensure that they have correct contact information and date of birth to make the voting process easier for everyone.

Please continue to check this website to receive any important updates on the referendum.
