Referendum Question to be Considered for the Vote


Amendment 2: Amend Article VII, Section 2 to lower the number of signatures required to all a recall election by changing the percentage of voters who voted in the last election from 50% to 25%, as shown in the Ballot Detail.

Current Article VII, Section 2: Recall – Upon receipt of a petition signed by fifty per cent (50%) of the number of voters who voted in the last regular election call for the recall of any member of the Pawnee Business Council, it shall be the duty of the election commission to call and conduct within thirty (30) days and election on such recall. Recall shall be effective only if a majority of those voting shall vote in favor of such recall and that at least 50 per cent (50%) + one (1) of the number voting in the previous election vote in the recall election. Once a member has faced a recall attempt, no further recall action shall be brought against that member until at least twelve (12) months have passed. No member of the Pawnee Business Council shall be subject to recall action within the first six (6) months of that member’s term.

Recall shall be effective only if a majority of those voting shall vote in favor of such recall and that at least 50 per cent (50%) + one (1) of the number voting in the previous election vote in the recall election. Once a member has faced recall attempt, no further recall action shall be brought against that member until at least twelve (12) months have passed. No member of the Pawnee Business Council shall be subject to recall action within the first six (6) months of that member’s term.


Reminder: You will be given an option to vote either yes or no to all five (5) Constitutional Amendments or you may vote on each amendment individually.
Absentee ballots will only be accepted if received by noon on June14, 2008, the day of the election.
You must contact the enrollment office at 918-762-3621 to ensure that they have correct contact information and date of birth to make the voting process easier for everyone.

June 14, 2008 Voting Site will be at the Pawnee Nation Multipurpose building located at 808 Morris Road.

The Polls will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
