Pawnee Nation Fire & Rescue Department

The mission of Pawnee Nation Fire and Rescue involves the protection of life and property from the adverse effects of fires, medical emergencies, or exposure to dangerous conditions through fire suppression, rescue, disaster preparedness, fire prevention, and community education. The Fire and Rescue team focuses on rapid response to emergencies, in addition to providing appropriate intervention and community education.

Pawnee Nation Fire and Rescue responds to calls within the Blackburn, Glencoe, Jennings, Masham, Maramec, Morrison, Pawnee, Ralston, Skeedee, and Yale communities, as well as other nearby communities.  Pat Leadingfox serves as the Fire Chief, while day to day operations are currently overseen by Gerald Woommavovah. All other members of Pawnee Nation Fire and Rescue serve as volunteer firefighters. 

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER?

Totaling up to approximately six weeks, all firefighters are required to complete and maintain the following certifications upon joining the department:

♦  Firefighter 1
♦  Medical 1st Responder National Registry Certification (or EMT-Basic)
♦  National Incident Management (NIMS) training
