A Pawnee Nation Special Election is scheduled to fill the position of President of the Pawnee Nation. This Special Election is scheduled for Saturday, January 2, 2016.

President Nuttle Resigns as President of Pawnee Nation

The Pawnee Nation Business Council officially accepted the resignation of their President, Misty Nuttle yesterday evening. President Nuttle, in an email to the Council stated, “…it is with a heavy heart that I decided …to resign my position as Pawnee Business Council President. I must take care of my own obligations and put my family first in their time of need. It has been a pleasure serving with all of you and I will always hope for the best for the Pawnee Nation.” President Nuttle served the Pawnee Nation in various capacities and most recently as President, providing excellence in leadership.
In accordance with the Pawnee Nation Constitution, Vice President W. Bruce Pratt has assumed all duties as the Interim Pawnee Nation Business Council President and Councilman Adrian Spottedhorsechief has been selected to serve as the Interim Vice President. A special election will be held within 60 days to fill the vacancy of the President. The Pawnee Nation looks forward to continuing success during this period of transition and with deep gratitude would like to thank President Nuttle for her service to the Pawnee Nation and wish for her and her family all blessings.

A Tribal Harvest Tag must accompany all deer harvested on Pawnee Nation Land. The tags can be picked up at the Pawnee Nation Tag Office or the Pawnee Nation Department of Environmental Conservation and Safety (DECS) front entrance.
Remember, a carcass tag is required before the deer can be processed.

The Pawnee Nation has the following open positions:
- One (1) position available on the Pawnee Nation Tax Commission. This is a four-year term and applicant must be a Pawnee Tribal Member.
- Three (3) positions on the Pawnee Tribal Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Seats #1, 2 and 3 are all three (3) year terms.
- Three (3) positions on the Pawnee Nation Liquor Control Commission.
- Two (2) positions on the Pawnee Nation Supreme Court Justice. For more information about this position please email email@example.com.

The application must be filled out completely; Pawnee Nation CDIB and a school official must sign the form, along with parent/guardian signature. Eligibility requirements are Kindergarten through 12th grade only and Pawnee Nation member residing anywhere in the world. We will be sending out the VISA cards weekly.
If you have received a card the previous semester, make sure the receipt has been turned in to be eligible for the current semester.

Applications are now available online for:
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)-provides assistance to low-income Native American households in meeting their immediate home energy needs. LIHEAP monies can be used to pay for electricity, gas, or propane bills. The maximum amount of assistance is $100 in a calendar year. Clients must reside in Pawnee County, but do not have to be a member of the Pawnee Nation.
The following must be submitted for review to determine if participants are eligible: Completed LIHEAP Application, Proof of Residency (utility bill with current mailing address), Proof of Income and Certificate Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB).

Community Service Block Grant (CSBG)
Provides assistance to low-income Native American individuals/families with housing and/or utility deposits (no bills) and medical expenses (eyewear, dentures, and medications). The maximum amount of assistance is $100 in a calendar year. Clients must reside in Pawnee County, but do not have to be a member of the Pawnee Nation.
The following must be submitted for review to determine if participants are eligible: Completed CSBG Application, Proof of Residency, Proof of Income and a CDIB.

Elders, Handicap and Emergency Assistance Program
The Pawnee Nation provides financial assistance for the Tribal Elderly and Handicap members who are not covered by other assistance programs. This program utilizes the Motor Fuel Funds as prescribed by the State of Oklahoma Agreement which are to be used for the health and welfare of our tribal members. Applicants must be at least 55 years old at the time of the application for assistance and/or handicapped of any age. If handicapped, applicants must provide proof of such condition and applicants must meet the current income guidelines set forth by the department of health and human services, which is 150% of the poverty level. Applicants must be a member of the Pawnee Nation as verified by a CDIB.

The Pawnee Business Council shall set the amount for burial assistance in the annual budgeting process. The amount of burial will be established in the annual tribal operating budget.
