PAWNEE NATION COLLEGE TO HOST CANDIDATE’S FORUM

The upcoming Pawnee Nation election will be held Saturday, May 5 th. In an effort to provide candidates an opportunity to present their platforms and to participate in a town hall-style meeting, the Pawnee Nation College is hosting a candidate’s forum.

The forum will also provide tribal members a means by which they can make informed decisions about whom they wish to vote into office—an important element of any representative government.

The forum will be held at the Pawnee Nation’s Multi-Purpose Building on Tuesday, April 24 th and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Stillwater chapter of the League of Women Voters will moderate and serve as timekeepers for the forum.

Rules of etiquette for both candidates and the public will be enforced.

Candidates will be given two minutes for opening remarks at the beginning of the forum. Then a town-hall style meeting will take place, during which students from the College and audience members will ask questions. The forum will conclude with candidates having two minutes for closing remarks.

For more information about the forum, please call Amber Whiteshirt at (918) 762-3621.
