Primary responsibilities encompass regulatory matters concerning the gaming facilities located within the jurisdiction of the Pawnee Nation. Duties include licensing, minimum internal controls, regulatory issues concerning State, Federal and Tribal laws and regulations and conducting hearings on regulatory issues. Additional duties pertinent to the position mandate may be required.
Candidates will be required to maintain a Pawnee Nation Gaming Commissioner License issued by the PBC. Attendance at monthly PNGC meetings in addition to any emergency sessions is mandatory.
Each Commissioner serves a three-year term and continues to engage until a replacement commissioner has been appointed. Commissioners may be removed for cause by the PBC.
The TERO (Tribal Employment Rights Office) Commission
The Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO) Commission works with the Education Department to place tribal members in positions with various organizations in the community in order to facilitate opportunities for better employment. TERO also ensures compliance regarding the Indian preference mandate in all matters of hiring and promotion. In addition, this department investigates claims of unequal treatment of tribal members and recommends any corrective action needed.
Candidates are appointed by the president of the Pawnee Nation Business Council and serve a four-year term. There are four members of the committee and a normal stipend is provided.
The Pawnee Tribal Development Corporation (PTDC) Board of Directors
The Pawnee Tribal Development Corporation (PTDC) Board of Directors operates pursuant to the PTDC Articles of Incorporation. The Board is comprised of seven directors selected by the Pawnee Nation Business Council, four of whom must be members of the Pawnee Nation.
The remaining representatives may be nonmembers carefully selected because of their skill in manufacturing, engineering, technology, education, business or finance. Meetings are held every other Tuesday evening according to the annual meeting schedule.
Selected candidates will be required to pass a background check and obtain a Pawnee Nation gaming license and state liquor license.
