Due to not one candidate having 51% of the vote, there will be a run off the election of the 2 candidates with the highest count. 





The Pawnee Nation will be conducting a Special Election on July 22, 2017. Position to be filled will be Third Council Member (4) Year Position. The filing dates for candidates will be June 7-10, 2017. Candidate filings will be accepted at the Pawnee Nation Law Enforcement Center each day from 1:00 P.M. thru 5:00 P.M. All prospective candidates must file their candidacy during this time and meet all requirements as stated in the Election Act of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. A filing fee of $300.00 (three hundred) dollars will be required to file. For information concerning these requirements, you may write the

The members of the Pawnee Nation Election Commission encourage all members of the Pawnee Nation to exercise their right to VOTE and become a part of this very important opportunity. Your personal involvement in this process can and will strengthen our Nation, now and in the future. All members of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, who are eighteen (18) years of age or over on the date of the election are eligible to vote. Any qualified member of the Pawnee Nation can request an absentee ballot in writing, addressed to the Pawnee Nation Election Commission at P.O. 600, Pawnee Oklahoma 74058. Eligible voters may also FAX a request to the Pawnee Nation Election Commission at fax: (918) 762-6446 or email, if they expect to be absent from the polling place on the day of the election. Please include a valid address and telephone number when requesting an absentee ballot.

All requests must be made no less than twenty-one (21) days; before the Election day (July 22, 2017) and must be accompanied by a copy of two (2) forms of identification. Upon receipt of a valid request, the Election Commission will forward to the voter all necessary forms to be used in the pending election. Any ballots not postmarked 48 hours prior to the election will not be counted. Candidates and members of the Pawnee Nation are being advised that changes in the election act may be viewed on the Pawnee Nation website or by request to the Election Commission.

Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma files suit to protect tribal lands and water from illegal Oil and Gas drilling

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District for the Northern District of Oklahoma, alleges that the BIA AND BLM violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the federal government's duties as trustee to the Pawnee Nation and its members, as well as other statutes.

 - One (1) position on the Pawnee Nation Environmental Regulatory Commission, seat is a 3 year term.  Open until filled.
